Oh of course I am not being vulgar! I am talking puppets!
With another election on the horizon, what better way to poke fun OR teach your young ones (and not so young ones like me) a little lesson in politics with the help of these awesome finger puppets!
Ottawa resident, Gabe Thirlwall, is the puppet master and artist behind the Political Circus finger puppets (sold at Flock on Wellington). She even created a very special one this past week: Limited Edition Election Harper!
This one comes with all the accessories needed for an election campaign including: an election sign, a campaign bus, a handler, a smartphone, a ten percenter (literature sent to opposition ridings), a coffee and a donut, a giant sized novelty cheque (emblazoned with the party logo) and a kitten (to help him with his softer fuzzier side)!!!
Hahaha I love it! Maybe I would understand politics a bit more if it were explained with puppets!

Sylvester Stallone is the latest star to launch his own men’s clothing line and “lifestyle brand”!
What’s the inspirations behind the collection that will come out next year?! Stallone’s best-known movie characters: Rocky and Rambo!!!
Ok… it’s not as bad as it sounds… this is the angle: “Rocky at the end of the day is a love story, while Rambo showcases the other side of masculinity, he’s a loner. So the line will offer looks for ‘the rebel and the gentleman.'”
Sly had this to say: “I thought the time is now. I’ve lived a life where I know what has worked and what hasn’t worked. Clothing is the first step to building a character.”
Weren’t these two movie characters mostly shirtless? If that is the inspiration, I don’t mind! hahaha Actually, some people are scary shirtless, so I’d rather not give them a “fashion excuse” to be without a shirt…

It has officially started… Australia is, of course, first to go ahead with Earth Hour & as we speak, the light in Sydney Harbour are off.
March 26, 8:30-9:30pm
Hundreds of millions of people around the world are set to switch off their lights… The Eiffel Tower in Paris and the world’s tallest building in Dubai will also have their lights turned off for 60 minutes as part of the remarkable event in which people reflect in darkness about how to fight global warming. Times Square in New York, Beijing’s “Bird’s Nest” stadium that hosted the 2008 Olympics, the London Eye and Brazil’s Christ the Redeemer statue are also going dark for an hour.
A record 134 countries or territories were on board for the event, which organisers have dubbed the world’s largest voluntary action for the environment.
March 26, 8:30-9:30pm

Get those candles ready, make sure your flashlights are charged as it is tonight that we show how much we love our planet by saving energy and turning off all lights for one hour.

“Let us use 60 minutes of darkness to help the world see the light”.

Apparently, 1 in 4 women hate the way their husband proposed!!
A new study has found that 26% of brides-to-be said that they wished the moment had been more romantic, original or personal. Others would have preferred it to be more private or complained that it was too over-the-top, and 1/3 said that the biggest faux pas was proposing without a ring! Who does that?!?! Guys–you need a ring to propose! Come on!!!!!!
The poll of 3,000 men and women also revealed some insight into men’s attitudes to popping the question:
– 3/4 of male respondents said that they planned the entire proposal without any help;
– 1/2 admitting that they would never share their plan to propose before the moment itself;
– 30% admitting that they refused to bring a second opinion to the jeweler.
No help–good on you boys!

Tonight is the night you’ll want to take out that bottle of wine and do some kind of romantic gesture for your loved one while looking up to the night sky… or just take the kids outside and let them enjoy something extraordinary that hasn’t been around since 1993!

As the sun sets tonight, the biggest, brightest moon in about 20 years will take over the sky!  According to the NASA, the “supermoon” will be about 14% bigger and 30% brighter than normal.

Because the moon’s orbit is oval, there is a point where it is the closest to the Earth, known as its perigee. Tonight, the moon’s closest perigee of the year happens to occur within one hour of the phase of the full moon, which together will create the rarely seen increased illumination and size.

If you want to maximize your viewing experience, you should set your sights on the distant horizon with objects, like mountains or buildings, in the foreground. As the moon rises behind those objects, it creates an optical illusion that makes it appear even bigger to the naked eye!

Appreciate it tonight — it’s going to be an extraordinary thing!

A couple of weeks ago, we told you about Baby Gaga ice cream (made from real breast milk) and how the makers were issued with legal papers threatening to sue for using the name Gaga.

Well, the creators of the ice cream have responded to Lady Gaga’s lawyers with some rebranding suggestions that are more than a little tongue in cheek.

Here are some of the alternative names they suggested.

Baby O’Gaga, in honour of St Patrick’s Day. Sounds familiar? Rhymes with Radio Gaga.

Gelato Germanotta – Inspired by your client’s Italian roots. After all, What’s wrong with using her own name?

JellyBaby Gaga – Your legal threats sent us a bit wobbly.

The Cry Baby – Rocks in the corner crying over spilt milk

The Dons Gaga – Genuine name of a woman who lives in South London. A real lady.

Baby Goo Goo Ga Ga Goo Goo Ga Ga Goo Goo Ga Ga – As dictated by our gurgling two year old legal advisor.

HAHAHA I love it!!!

It is only right that they responded in such a humorous way considering the ridiculousness of the claims Gaga is making against their company… should we also stop saying “I’m going gaga!” – I said that way before the Gaga even became a lady!
